*Back from a performance in Den Hauge, Holland and with another certificate for our wall of awards, Majinga and Genii had an excellent time at FISM the Federation of International Societies of Magicians.
We performed a manipulation and acrobatic act that began with the didgereedo and ended with an intriguing ice-skating pose that was featured throughout the conference.
(A photo is available of us at FISM on the gallery page.)
*At the Magique Bazaar Living Museum in downtown San Jose we created an exhibit on Orientalism in Magic. Effects from the exhibit will be performed by Majinga the Magician for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration at Davies Symphony Hall.
*In November Magic Mike taught a number of sleight-of-hand effects at the Palo Alto Cultural Arts Center, for their theme of Money Magic!
With effects from the book he consulted on for Klutz Press, The Coin Magic Book, as well as effects from their best-selling book
the Klutz Book of Magic. For special deals on books and manuscripts regarding these sleight-of-hand illusions and more check out our up-coming web catalog!
*Magic Mike receives certificate of honor from Mayor of Morgan Hill,
for outstanding contributions to the community through his series of Funhouse performances earlier this year. Of course, it was Chiquy Boom and Magic Genii, the funhouse Fly Girls that made him look so good. Special guests were jam Patrol, a dynamic duo of hip-hop dancers recently featured in the San Jose Ballet.
*Michael Stroud performs on Alcatraz Island-in Robert Stroud's cell!
You may know that Robert Stroud was the "Birdman of Alcatraz" and that Michael Stroud won some of his first magic awards with a "dove act", where he magically made appear ten different birds each in a different way. Michael still raises doves and considers them to be cooingly beautiful, magical feats of nature.
*Majinga's Musique Didjereedoo album will be released this upcoming spring. With awesome dance tracks by Brandon Trinity combined with the ethereal sounds of the didg and featuring many other guest artists, this album promises to be a dynamic journey of mood-evoking sounds.

On our Wish list- a video projector.
There is no such thing as real magic! We will install the screen in January at our location in downtown San Jose, where we will use it for multi-media productions as well as showing some of the greatest magicians you will ever see on screen.
*In January we will have free vcd's for members of MBLM, featuring the history of the theatre show that began it all leading up to the creation of our first exhibits in 2003.
*Blending Magic and Education
Michael Stroud is currently writing 3 new tricks for the 5th year anniversary of his book, "The Klutz Book of Magic".
This book has been a best-seller for Klutz Press in Palo Alto, California. "Your book is in orbit!" says John Cassidy, one of the three original founders of Klutz Press. Each book comes with items attached for the magic effects and includes a scarf, a metal ring, and a super-secret something that allows readers to practically become
instant magicians themselves.
*Library Showcase
Speaking of reading, Magic Mike will make an appearance at the Library Showcase in Fremont in the new year. "this is very special to me" says Magic Mike, for his first show ever was at a library.
"I love to do more than entertain with my magic-If I can encourage kids to read at the same time, I feel that I have created a real magic for that child.
In a world where the media shapes our minds it's important to exercise our own imaginations and books allow the reader an experience."
*Environmental Magic
In the Spring of 2006, Magic Mike will appear for a second season with EEK-Environmental Education for Kids. He will perform his "Magic Resources" show for 10 schools throughout Livermore in conjunction with the city's campaign to eductate kids on the importance of reducing use, recycling materials, and protecting the environment. With help from recycled cardboard made into magic and Tony the Talking Trashcan, Magic Mike will again have fun inspiring furture generations.
